Step-by-step guide
- Log in to My MostHosted.
- Open the relevant domain name.
- Go to DNS management.
- Choose Add record and select SRV.
- Enter the host name. Use @ or leave the field empty for the root domain if the panel indicates this.
- Enter priority, weight, port and target as the value.
- Check the name, type, value and TTL, then save the change.
- After a few minutes, check whether the new record can be queried publicly.

This depends on the TTL and provider caches. The change is often visible within a few minutes, but old responses may be retained for longer.
Can I undo a DNS change?
Yes. Restore the previous value and save again. This correction may also temporarily be affected by DNS cache.
Do I need to change the TTL?
Usually not. For a planned migration, you can lower the TTL in advance so later changes are retrieved more quickly.
