Follow these steps to add your MostHosted email address to the standard Mail app in Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Step 1: Open the Mail app
- Click the Start button and search for Mail.
- Open the Mail app.
- If this is the first time you use the app, click Add account. If you already have accounts, click Accounts in the left menu and then Add account.
Step 2: Choose ‘Advanced setup’
- At the bottom of the account options window, click Advanced setup.
- Then choose Internet email.
Step 3: Enter your email settings
Enter the following details:
- Email address:
jouwnaam@domein.nl - Username:
jouwnaam@domein.nl - Password: the password for your email address
- Account name: for example “Work” or “MostHosted”
- Send your messages using this name: your name as you want recipients to see it
- Incoming mail server:
mail.mosthosted.com - Account type: IMAP4 (recommended) or POP3
- Outgoing email server (SMTP):
mail.mosthosted.com
Step 4: Select the following options
- Outgoing server requires authentication
- Use the same username and password for sending email
- Require SSL for incoming email
- Require SSL for outgoing email
Step 5: Finish
Click Sign in or Done. The Mail app will now check your details and add the account.
Common problems
- Check that your email address and password are entered correctly.
- Check that you use the correct ports: IMAP 993 with SSL, SMTP 465 with SSL or 587 with TLS.
- Make sure your full email address is used as the username.
