Follow the steps below to add your MostHosted email address to the standard Mail app on your iPhone or iPad (iOS).
Step 1: Open the Settings app
- Go to Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down and tap Mail.
- Choose Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
Step 2: Choose ‘Other’
- In the list of email providers, choose Other.
- Then tap Add Mail Account.
Step 3: Enter your details
Enter your account details:
- Name: your own name, which will be visible to the recipient
- Email: your full email address, such as
jouwnaam@domein.nl - Password: the password for your email address
- Description: a recognisable name, such as “Work email” or “MostHosted”
Then tap Next.
Step 4: Configure IMAP/POP manually
iOS will try to retrieve settings automatically. If this does not work, enter the details below manually.
Incoming email (IMAP – recommended)
- Host name:
mail.mosthosted.com - Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
Outgoing email (SMTP)
- Host name:
mail.mosthosted.com - Username: your full email address
- Password: your email password
Tap Next. iOS will now check the settings.
Step 5: Choose what to synchronise
- You can choose whether to synchronise only Mail or also Notes.
- Then tap Save.
Your email is now configured
Open the Mail app to send and receive emails. Everything should now work. You can test it by sending an email to yourself.
Common problems
- Check that you entered the correct password.
- Always use your full email address as the username.
- Check that the ports and servers are configured correctly. Ports: IMAP 993 (SSL), SMTP 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS).
