Follow these steps to configure your email address correctly in Microsoft Outlook included with Office 2024, 2022 or 2019.
Step 1: Open Outlook
Start Microsoft Outlook. If this is the first time you open Outlook, you will automatically be asked to add an account. If not, follow these steps:
- Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings…
- Click New… to add a new email account.
Step 2: Choose manual configuration
When the screen for adding an email account appears, enter your name, email address and password. Then click Advanced options and select Let me set up my account manually on.
Step 3: Choose IMAP (recommended)
Choose IMAP as the account type, not POP. You will then be asked for the settings.
Step 4: Enter server settings
Use the following settings:
Incoming email (IMAP)
- Server:
mail.mosthosted.com - Port:
993 - Encryption: SSL/TLS
Outgoing email (SMTP)
- Server:
mail.mosthosted.com - Port:
465(SSL) or587(STARTTLS) - Encryption: SSL/TLS or STARTTLS
Check that the option My outgoing server requires authentication is selected and set to Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.
Step 5: Login details
For both incoming and outgoing mail, use your full email address as the username. Enter the password supplied by MostHosted.
Step 6: Finish
Click Next and wait while Outlook tests the connection. If everything is correct, the account will be added successfully. Click Done to close.
